The Dayton Business Journal listed CRG Defense among its Best Places to Work in 2025

CRG Defense has been named one of the Dayton region’s Best Places to Work for the third consecutive year by the Dayton Business Journal, reinforcing its commitment to building a workplace where top talent can grow, lead, and innovate.

The company was recognized in the “Medium” category, which includes organizations with 50 to 199 employees. Winners are selected based on confidential employee surveys conducted by Quantum Workplace, which measures organizational culture, trust in leadership, professional development, and employee engagement.

“At CRG Defense, we believe a great mission starts with a great team,” said Patrick Hood, founder and CEO. “This recognition is meaningful because it comes directly from our employees. Their dedication and talent drive everything we do.”

CRG Defense is a mission-driven defense technology company known for its work in advanced materials, energy storage, and engineered systems. Employees say the company fosters a culture of flexibility, collaboration, and continuous learning, where bold thinking is both encouraged and expected.

“CRG Defense offers a unique environment for high-performing researchers to practice a wide breadth of skills in different application spaces,” said Alex, a research engineer who joined in 2022.

Others describe it as a place where curiosity leads to opportunity.

“I’ve had the chance to grow across R&D, quality assurance, and project management,” said Ashley, a research scientist who joined in 2020. “It’s a place where I feel trusted and empowered every day.”

For Jeff, a composite technician since 2019, the people and projects make the job meaningful:

“The people, the culture, and all the unique projects we get to work on is why I enjoy working here.”

CRG Defense and the other 2025 honorees will be celebrated at a recognition event on September 11 at the Dayton Convention Center’s Gem City Ballroom.
